God is Mercy-fullWho is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. Micah 7:18Does Mercy matter to God ? Yes! Jesus said, "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices–mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law – justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. " Matt 23:23 Who Does God give Mercy to? I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Ex. 33:19 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' Hosea 6:6 ~For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Matt 9:13 (God gives mercy to the one's who have wronged Him and come to Him asking for Mercy.) His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. Lk 1:50 For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." Romans 9:15 God Alone is in charge of His mercy. His mercy cannot be forced out, yet God delights in giving mercy. It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. Romans 9:16 God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. Rom 9:18 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peaceloving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Micah 7:18 The Lord's mercy is trustworthy. 1Cor 7:25 What moves God to use His Mercy? There is only one thing that moves God to being Merciful - His Great and unfailing LOVE. Remember me for this also, O my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love. Neh 13:22 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Ps 25:6 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Ps 51:1 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, Eph 2:4 How has God demonstrated His mercy permanently? Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Pet 1:3-5
