The Purpose of the Bible is - to tell all people Who God is and to show God's Character. The Bible consistently tells the story God Who seeks to redeem a people, and of individuals who are drawn to the Lord God. They recognize His love for them and are saved from destruction because they put their trust in Him and surrender all to Him. Throughout history, and through all generations, God has been consistent and persistent to reveal Himself to us, to draw us to Him in loving kindness, and to invite us to be in a permanent loving relationship with Himself for a joy that has no end.
The Bible was written from - around 1450 BC to about 100AD, over a period of about 1,500 years. Moses was the first writer, writing the first five books, the Pentateuch. John, the apostle, was the last writer writing after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

These writers were from all walks of life: kings, shepherds, farmers, priests, philosophers, tent-makers, physicians, and fishermen. The Bible was written in three different languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek. The Bible attributes its unity in thought and purpose to the true Author, God Himself. (John 1)
