Confusion

Confusion -

When you start getting confused where do you go? What do you do? Where do you turn?

Do you continue down the same path, uncertain of what changes to make?

When you are confused, do you find that the confusion becomes stronger?

Sometimes we may feel like the lobster that is being stalked by an octopus. The lobster is walking its usual path along the rocks of the undersea reef. Suddenly the waters around him become dark, and he can’t see where he is or where he is going. Unknown to the lobster, a hungry octopus, trying to catch its food, squirts ink into the water near the lobster to form a screen. The octopus hides behind the dark liquid cloud and creeps up on its unsuspecting victim, grabs him from behind, and then devours the lobster alive.

Confusion is like that. We may feel like things are just fine, living our life with bumps along the way, but no big deal. And then suddenly the waters of life become murky. We sense something is not right, but we are unable to see what the source of the confusion is. In the case of the lobster, it is the octopus who is causing the deception and ultimately the demise of the lobster.

With humans, it is even more dangerous than life and death. The consequences are eternal. Even though our physical lives may not be in danger, our minds can become confused, our emotions are muddled, our feelings get tangled, and then our functioning becomes dysfunctional. Often it is a slow process so we never realize where or how we got so far from our certain and safe path.

When you start getting confused where do you go?

What do you do? Where do you turn?

If driving a car, we may reach for the GPS. We may pull off the road and look at the map, hoping it is the right one. We may stop and ask for directions, hoping the advice is good. We may feel so badly that we reach for a comic book to read the jokes and feel better. We might take drugs, drink, or flirt to distract us from our problem. These would not solve the problem but instead would prolong our agony. We could choose to park and rot. Or we may choose to continue struggling alone, being lost just to be able to find our way a few hours and gallons of gas later.

Confusion and disorientation saps us of strength and goal attaining. Being lost by definition means we cannot reach our chosen goal without help.

Life is short. No one knows when their last breath will be. No one knows how they will die. But everyone knows: everyone will die. If you are confused, disoriented, or have lost your purpose in life. If your loved ones are no more, if your job, finances, homeland, etc have all taken a downturn that was unpredictable. Then you need to go to The Map, The Source, THE GPS (God’s Positioning System, which is the Word of God, Trustworthy Word

God’s positioning system is beyond global, it is Universal!! God sees you from heaven and up close and personal (Character of God Who is all-seeing and all-knowing, …). God seeks those who are lost! God doesn’t want anyone to lose their way in this life without being able to come to Him and be saved from eternal destruction. God seeks people so they will live here on earth with eternal peace, joy, and hope.

Jesus says, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19:10 “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” Matthew 18:14 "I have not lost one of those you gave me." John 18:9            Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. Isaiah 59:1 (Cry Out to God

Confusion is a signal or an indicator that Truth is needed. We need to move from cloudy darkness to clarity. Just as muddied water from the octopus’ deceptive ink needs fresh clean water to dissipate the shadows. Don’t peer or panic in confusion but go directly to God’s Word (Found on Bible Gateway), His Holy Spirit and experience the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6          “Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.” Psalm 51:6 (See Instruction Psalm 51)  Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31-32 (See instruction Hold Truth
